Frequently asked questions

What is a good mental math score?
On easy, solving 25 or more in a minute is a solid result; on medium, around 15 is strong; on hard, getting past 10 is good going. The numbers drop as the problems get bigger, so the fairest comparison is against your own runs at the same difficulty.
How can I get faster?
Learn your times tables cold, break big sums into round numbers (think 47 + 28 as 47 + 30 − 2), and practise little and often. Speed comes from recognising patterns rather than calculating every digit from scratch.
Does division always come out even?
Yes. Division problems are built from a clean multiplication, so the answer is always a whole number. You never have to deal with remainders or decimals.
Are my best scores saved?
Your best result for each game is kept in your browser so you have something to beat next time. It lives only on this device, so clearing your browser data or switching to another device starts you fresh. Nothing is tied to an account because there is no account.
Does anything I do here get sent to a server?
No. Every game runs locally in your browser. Your scores and any text you type stay on your own device, nothing is uploaded, and nothing is logged or stored by us. Once the page has loaded it keeps working even if you go offline.
